About the Centre

The St Columcille’s Hospital Centre for Obesity Management (SCH COM) was established in 2002.

Our aim is to help support people living with obesity to improve overall health and wellbeing.

The Centre for Obesity Management (COM):

The COM is consultant-led, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. Our goal is to deliver a quality, patient-centred service.

Our focus is on:

  • Increased understanding and management of obesity as a chronic disease.
  • Supporting overall health through nutrition, physical activity and mental well-being.
  • Identifying and addressing causes or barriers to successful obesity management.
  • Having a ‘best weight’ ethos – achieving a sustainable weight while still enjoying life.
  • Helping improve health and quality of life through evidence-based treatment.
